The Session: A Strategic Snapshot

Professor Shekshnia will deliver a focused presentation highlighting the most urgent themes from his latest research. Rather than an exhaustive academic review, this session will offer a “pulse check” on three critical areas:

1. The Macro Context: What is Hitting Us?
A look at the external pressures redefining risk. We will touch upon how boards are reacting to geopolitical shifts, the acceleration of AI, and the increasing complexity of stakeholder scrutiny.

2. The Micro Reality: The Director’s Dilemma
A brief examination of the internal challenges directors face today. How do boards handle the “information gap” in an era of data overflow? We will look at the changing demands on time and the evolving definition of diversity.

3. Emerging Solutions: Where to Look NextA glimpse into the future of governance. Professor Shekshnia will introduce concepts for the road ahead, touching on agile board processes, the shift toward purpose-driven agendas, and the potential of AI-enabled decision-making tools.

Stanislav Shekshnia is Senior Affiliate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Family Enterprise at INSEAD. Shekshnia has worked as a top manager for 10 years and subsequently as an entrepreneur in France, USA, Russia and Central Europe. His combination of experience from a wide range of international boards with extensive research provides practical inspiration for participants in his programs.

He is program director for the INSEAD programs Executive Board Program, Advanced Board Programme as well as the Leading from the Chair Program and has published many books on management and corporate governance work.
